Acid in the Oceans

NPR.org and other news outlets have been running stories on increasing acidification of the oceans. Burned fuels cause carbon dioxide to enter the oceans as well as the atmosphere. This then turns into carbonic acid which can damage and kill sea life. Some of the attention to this problem has been caused by a new film called Acid Test (the trailer is above).

It is unclear what all of the effects of this major change in ocean chemistry will be. This may be as big a problem as polluted storm water run off.
